Improve your money mindset by understanding how your Money Type opens the doors to self-awareness, helping you uncover the beliefs and patterns that have shaped your current money story.
1. The Money Spender Type
The Money Spender lives for the moment and feel that life is meant to be enjoyed. Giving gifts for no reason is often seen with this money type. You experience a feeling of being in control when spending money and more importantly, you feel in control of yourself.
Your biggest strength as a money spender is the ability to enjoy life and let your energy flow trusting that life will provide all that you need.
The challenge with being a money spender is that you can feel emotionally unbalanced and out of control and can easily exhaust yourself, your energy and your finances. Impulsive and out of control spending can result in you not having the resources for any unplanned events (big or small) in your life.
2. The Money Saver Type
Some people like to have money in the bank but for you as a Money Saver, it’s critical as it creates a sense of security and comfort. Knowing how, where and when you spend money is often meticulously thought out and your financial decisions are generally wise but more importantly- safe.
As a bargain hunter the Money Saver doesn't need instant gratification to feel good about themselves, they are content with waiting for the next "good" deal.
The challenge of being a Money Saver is that you may not fully experience life. You may miss out on social events, investment opportunities or business opportunities due to your financial behaviours.
Many people have the disorder - Money Dysmorphia, which makes a person think that they can't afford something even when they have budgeted for spending. It can cause incredible stress and anxiety and affect many personal, business and work relationships. You may feel that you are financially out of balance with friends or family or that others may take financial advantage of you.
The extreme and irrational fear of money is called Chrometophobia. This phobia of money may cause a person to experience intense panic, anxiety and fear from touching, feeling or smelling money or even the thought of spending money.
Being aware of this chronic disorder and asking for help is just as important as maintaining one's mental, emotional and physical health.
3. The Money Maker
The Money Maker lives to make money. They are ambitious, driven and embrace opportunities to grow and expand their potential beyond their wildest dreams. The euphoric feeling of financial accomplishment is a driving factor in their steely determination to be seen as successful.
The Money Maker may find it a challenge to balance their personal, emotional, physical and spiritual relationships as the desire to make money is at the core of their waking moments.
The Money Maker would benefit from connecting their values with their vision, guiding them to a balanced and harmonious life in their financial and personal relationships.
4. The Indifferent Type
The Indifferent money type typically say that they don't really care about money and they have enough to maintain the life they desire. This money type often hides underlying stress and anxiety in exploring any emotional aspects of their current money story.
Taking a deeper examination of these hidden anxieties is a critical step for the Indifferent type, allowing them to have a more conscious and purposeful approach to their financial decisions and enriching their personal and financial life.
Finally, what we do know about money?
We know that money is energy, experienced as an exchange for products, goods and services. Money as Energy does not have meaning in itself, except the meaning that we attach to it. We have so many "stories" connected to money, but really, money is a story about our own self-worth and what we believe we deserve.
